Iron Works is best known as the welder who comes to you — but behind the rig sits a fully equipped fabrication workshop at Mount Pleasant, where the bigger custom steel builds happen.

The Workshop Behind The Mobile Rig
Some jobs cannot be done in a paddock. A full set of cattle yards, a stock crate, a trailer rebuild or a run of structural steel needs benches, jigs and room to square things up — that is what the Mount Pleasant workshop is for.
The workshop runs MIG, TIG and arc across mild steel, stainless and aluminium, with oxy cutting and air arc gouging for heavy sections, line boring for machinery bores, and sheet metal work for guards, trays and enclosures.
It is one trade end to end: we measure on site, fabricate in the workshop, then deliver and install with the same mobile rig — so nothing gets lost between the fabricator and the installer, because they are the same person.

What We Fabricate
Most of what leaves the workshop is rural and structural steel: farm gates and fencing, cattle yards and loading ramps, trailers and trailer modifications, tank stands, platforms and one-off frames and brackets.
We also build custom sheep & cattle stock crates sized to your ute, truck or trailer — one of the workshop’s specialties.
On the structural side we fabricate steel frames, support structures, platforms and walkways for commercial, industrial and agricultural projects — built to drawings when you have them, measured and detailed by us when you do not.

Steel Fabrication — Common Questions
Do you do steel fabrication or only mobile welding?
Both. The mobile rig handles on-site welding and repairs, and our Mount Pleasant workshop handles full custom steel fabrication — gates, yards, stock crates, trailers, structural steel and sheet metal work.
Can I bring a job to your workshop?
Yes — by arrangement. Call Sean on 0455 579 207 first so we are there when you arrive. Smaller jobs can often be dropped off and picked up; larger builds are quoted from your measurements or a site visit.
Do you do boilermaker work?
Yes — the work people usually mean by boilermaking: fabricating, assembling and welding structural steel and plate, cutting and gouging heavy sections, and repairing machinery. Sean is a formally qualified welder, welding since 2014 and certified since 2019.
Which areas do you fabricate for?
The workshop sits at Mount Pleasant, between the Barossa and the Adelaide Hills, and jobs come from Adelaide, Gawler, Murray Bridge and everywhere in between. Delivery and on-site installation run through the same mobile service.
