STEEL PERGOLAS • BUILT TO LAST

Custom Steel Pergolas

Steel pergolas designed, fabricated and built by Iron Works for homes across the Barossa, the Adelaide Hills, the Murraylands and Adelaide. Solid steel posts and beams, a proper roof, and plenty of shade for summer.

A Pergola Built Like Structural Steel

We are welders and fabricators first, so our pergolas are built the way we build structural steel: steel posts and beams, purlins and cross-bracing, welded and bolted properly, then roofed. The result is a frame that stays straight and solid through Barossa summers and Hills winters.

Every pergola is made to fit. Attached to the back of the house or freestanding over the patio, sized to the space you have and finished to match. We measure on site, fabricate in our Mount Pleasant workshop and build it at your place.

Would rather build it yourself? We also supply steel pergola kits in set and custom sizes, shipped anywhere in Australia.

Steel Pergolas: Common Questions

Do you build pergolas?

Yes. Iron Works designs, fabricates and builds custom steel pergolas, attached to the house or freestanding. Our latest was a steel pergola with a corrugated roof for a home in Tanunda.

Why choose a steel pergola?

A steel frame with welded and bolted connections stays straight and solid for years, will not rot or get termites, and can carry a proper roof. We build it the way we build structural steel.

Where do you build pergolas?

Across the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills, the Murraylands and Adelaide, from our workshop in Mount Pleasant. Pergola kits ship anywhere in Australia.

Do you sell pergola kits?

Yes. Steel pergola kits come in 3 x 3 m, 4 x 4 m, 4 x 6 m and 6 x 6 m, or a custom size, supplied with the hardware ready for assembly. Use the Kit Quote page to choose the size, Colorbond colour and finish.

Do I need approval for a pergola in SA?

Sometimes. Many roofed pergolas and verandahs need development approval in South Australia; some small unroofed ones are exempt. Check with your council or on the SA Planning Portal (PlanSA).

How much does a steel pergola cost?

It depends on the size, whether it is attached or freestanding, and the roof. Quotes are free: call Sean on 0455 579 207 or send a photo of the space through the contact form.
