STEEL VERANDAHS • PATIO COVERS

Steel Verandahs & Patio Covers

Steel verandahs designed, fabricated and built by Iron Works for homes across the Barossa, the Adelaide Hills, the Murraylands and Adelaide. Solid steel posts and beams, a Colorbond roof, and covered outdoor living that lasts.

A Verandah Built From Proper Steel

A verandah is part of the house, so it has to look right and stay straight for decades. We fabricate the posts, beams, lintels and brackets in our Mount Pleasant workshop, then build it on site, tied into your home and roofed in your choice of Colorbond colour.

Every verandah is made to fit: along the front of a farmhouse, across the back for an outdoor living area, or wrapped around a corner. Gable or skillion roof, sized to your space and finished to suit the house.

Sean has been welding since 2014 and certified since 2019, and builds verandahs the same way he builds structural steel. As well as verandahs, Iron Works designs and builds steel pergolas, carports and sheds.

Our Latest Outdoor Steel Build

No verandah photos online yet, so here is our latest outdoor steel job: a steel pergola in Tanunda with steel posts and beams, purlins and cross-bracing under a corrugated roof. The same steel work goes into our verandahs.

Steel Verandahs: Common Questions

Do you build verandahs?

Yes. Iron Works designs, fabricates and builds steel verandahs for homes across the Barossa, the Adelaide Hills, the Murraylands and Adelaide, with steel posts and beams and a Colorbond roof.

What's the difference between a verandah and a pergola?

A verandah is usually attached along the house with a solid roof, a bit like an extension of the roofline. A pergola can be attached or freestanding and is often more open. We build both in steel.

Can you supply verandah steel for my builder?

Yes. We fabricate posts, beams, lintels and bracket work to suit new verandahs and home extensions, and can weld it up on site.

Do I need approval for a verandah in SA?

Usually. Most roofed verandahs need development approval in South Australia. Check with your council or on the SA Planning Portal (PlanSA) before you build.

How much does a steel verandah cost?

It depends on the size, the roof style and how it ties into the house. Quotes are free: call Sean on 0455 579 207 or send a photo through the contact form.
